WRESTLEMANIA 32 MATCHES & PREDICTIONS

It is that time of year again. The time wrestling fans of all levels have been waiting for. Wrestlemania! Wooooooooooo! And this year doesn't look to be a disappointing one, at least on paper. But, the only things that could seemingly go wrong are stage fright and injuries. Beyond that, this card is pretty stacked. Especially it is injuries that have John Cena, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Cesaro, and others out of action and likely to miss out on Wrestlemania 32. Obviously, like many others, I have predictions and opinions on it all haha And they would be...

The Usos V The Dudley Boyz
 Prediction: The Usos
-Although I want The Dudleyz to win, they are back in WWE to help the next gen. Usos aren't as over as they once were, and Bubba n Devon will get a massive pop the first time they break their current "no tables" rule. Plus, it leaves open the chance for Bubba to turn on Devon and become Bully.

Lana, Naomi, Tamina, Summer Rae, & Emma
V
Brie Bella, Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox & Eva Marie
Prediction: Brie, Paige, Natalya, Alicia, & Eva Marie
-Likely Brie's last Mania as she joins Daniel Bryan, so a good send off if she does retire. Must say that although this is slightly a filler match, it is great to see that all the women...Divas got on the card this year, and that the title will be defended later on. Two Divas matches at Wrestlemania, and none of them are bra-n-panties type or have any celebrity involvement. That does show how much things have change. Kudos. But please don't let there be yet another turn by Paige among all of this haha

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Kane, Big Show, Mark Henry, Heath Slater, Curtis Axel, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Goldust, R-Truth, Jack Swagger, Tyler Breeze, Viktor, Konnor, Fandango, Darren Young, Damian Sandow, and more?
Prediction: Kane
-Was hard to pick really, as this match holds no real meaning. No offense to Andre's memory, it is just it is a filler type match with a trophy. Hard to really steal the show in a battle royal too. Positive note is that the wrestlers use this as their Wrestlemania appearance and pay day. And since it really leads to nothing, why not put over other legendary big guys like Kane or even Mark Henry(my runner up for being worthy as well as a Texas boy) before they retire. Sure, an up and comer could win, but why not be the guy who beats the winner after a nice build up?

The League Of Nations V The New Day
Prediction: The New Day
-I thought that the WWE Tag Team Championship was on the line, but it appears to be not the case. Which is okay, as it gives everyone a chance to be in the ring. Can't see The New Day losing this one, given they are over with the WWE Universe and WWE themselves are "behind" them. NEW DAY!

Chris Jericho V AJ Styles
 Prediction: AJ Styles
-Honestly, this could go either way and make sense in my head haha Fan of both, but Jericho is my past, AJ my future if we get all deep with things. It would be a great start to a promising WWE career. AJ skipped NXT, and went straight to the main roster labeled as the hottest free agent. What better way to show that than with a dub at Mania? Regardless though, this match is sure to be phenomenal. Pun intended, but also applies to both guys performances.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Ladder Match
The Miz V Dolph Ziggler V Sami Zayn V Stardust V Sin Cara V Zack Ryder V Kevin Owens (C)
Prediction: Sami Zayn
-Shockers would be Ryder and Sin Cara. Slight shockers would be The Miz, Ziggler, or Stardust. Zayn got the "rub" plus a likely seal of approval from Cena, added with previous heat and great matches with Owens, and that is my "why". I can see Owens retaining, but this sets up the feud. Plus, KO is a great heel both as the antagonize and as a "cry baby" type. You stole my belt so I kick ruin your life or I cry about it. Those are the options I see.

WWE United States Championship
Ryback V Kalisto (C)
Prediction: Kalisto
-Kalisto is pretty over with the WWE Universe, and has "Next Gen' Rey Mysterio" written all over him given his size, move set, and marketable mask. Ryback hasn't done too much latley beyond going from the singlet to trunks. Although I can see a disgruntled from losing Sin Cara doing a run in and turning on Kalisto. But, that could also be done after the match or on RAW the next night.

Street Fight
Dean Ambrose V Brock Lesner
Prediction: Dean Ambrose
-This one was really hard to pick. Lesner "lost" last year at Wrestlemania 31 when Seth Rollins pinned Roman Reigns after cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase. But, this has to be "more" than Dean Ambrose showing us he can take a beating. Street Fight rules and a certain Bray Wyatt seemingly having nothing to do *cough*run in on Lesner*cough* would "protect" Brock Lesner's character of being The Conqueror. One things is for sure, no blood rile or not, there is going to be some color in this one.

WWE Divas Championship
Becky Lynch V Sasha Banks V Charlotte (C)
Prediction: Sasha Banks
-Becky although just as deserving, is the dark horse  in this one. Charlotte is the favorite to retain I think, but Sasha Banks is Snoop Doggs cousin, and although also just as deserving, blood and money may play into Vince's decision on this one.

Hell in A Cell
If Shane Wins He Controls RAW, & Undertaker Never Wrestles At Wrestlemania Again
Shane McMahon V The Undertaker
Prediction: Shane McMahon
-Hardest match to predict this year. But, the stipulations and their outcomes play into what I want, which is brand split between RAW and Smackdown!. And if Undertaker is going to have a last match, although I get why many feel it should be at a Mania, I however think it should be at a Survivor Series where he originated. Also, I have a feeling Shane won't be alone after Sting appears, and we get as close as we will to Sting V Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Not as good, but a huge moment none the less. Remember Degeneration X and nWo last year? Not as awesome, but great regardless.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns V Triple H (C)
Prediction: Roman Reigns
-This has been a 2 year process. Vince wants Roman as the top guy, as per usual fans are resisting, not so much Reigns but how Vince is making him approach this. Triple H winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was for this moment. I've mentioned in a previous blog entry about this being a good time for Cena to turn heel by simply joining The Authority and Triple H literally hands him his 16th World Title on RAW, use this as a last ditch effort to get Reigns over again. Cena won't change anything but simply acknowledging he is now a heel and fans will despise that and add that he would now be tied with Flair, they may beg for anyone to take him down. Summerslam, or even a year from now Reigns reclaims his title...maybe even a Sting like approach going silent or minimal verbal for a year (it is what most seem to chirp about, his new mic work). All that, or simply have a reunion of The Shield with Reigns as champ. Not sure when Rollins is due back, but story line wise he could have learned error of his ways during time away and is bitter Triple H is/was Champ. Ambrose, 'cause why the F not...looking around at all of the factions at the moment. Split them up again if the brands split.

I am actually excited to see Wrestlemania 32 on the WWE Network for $11.99 (I'm Canadian), as this show looks worth double of what it cost on PPV. Shane O'Mac is back, and brings possibility of RAW and Smackdown! separating. This could be Undertaker's last match at Wrestlemania (if not ever, given he is from Texas). Brock and Ambrose in a Street Fight and the Ladder Match for the IC title are the only things that has me concerned, but only for everyone's well being. They're going to be barn burning, slobber knockers for sure. AJ Styles at Wrestlemania? Nuff said. And for the first time in the history of Wrestlemania, other than my teen years (haha), I am looking forward to seeing the women blow the proverbial roof of the place. Some legends are likely to make appearances, just looking forward to how they are involved. Stone Cold Steve Austin in his home state, The Rock, HBK, will Hogan return? And that is just the most likely things, don't forget about the surprises and shockers. And never forget to tune into RAW the next night, as it tends to be the RAW of the year some times. Surprises, Mania fallout, beginning of new directions.

TOTAL DIVAS, OR TOTAL AIRHEADS?

Right off the bat, let me say that I am aware that the show is a "worked" reality show. Just like practically every other reality show. However with Total Divas, it is almost a hindrance to the now thriving Divas (womens) division. And as things go on, it appears to get worse. Aren't they supposed to show the world smart, strong, and athletic females? There are moments, in which that message comes across, but other things overshadow that mainly.

Nikki Bella
-Nikki comes across as a bimbo airhead, who is far from smart, or even street smarts. Total Divas makes Nikki appear to be that cliche star. Tea parties, fine. Telling people to pretend, and being offended when they point out how fake it is. Drinking? Fine. If not for IG and Twitter, I would almost assume she has a drinking problem.

Brie Bella
-Brie has been portrayed in both a positive and a negative light. She appears to be the smarter of the Bella twins, but a lot of that appears to come from being with Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) at times.

Natalya
-When John Cena had mentioned he didn't want kids while he was in the business because he has seen those raised in that world, I couldn't help but wonder if Natty was one of those people. She appears to be a princess who has no concept of how real life works. Natalya is portrayed in a way that makes everyone feel bad for Tyson Kidd.

Eva Marie
-Fake. On all levels. Husband too. Hoping this is just Total Divas, otherwise, the women's wrestling movement is in trouble if this is who Vince wants at the top.

Alicia Fox
-Maybe Fox is crazy like Naomi Campbell. Maybe it is just part of the show. Her inring skills have improved, but is still "behind" the rest, but perhaps it is time to replace her. As how she is portrayed
on Total Divas, she is the new Melina.

Rosa Mendes
-I'll immediately gives props for overcoming her demons, and getting clean. As a person though, Total Divas presents Rosa as a love hungry, bimbo. Given extreme limited inring ability, hard to see why she is still around, outside of a valet/manager role.

Naomi
-Total Divas has actually garnered my respect in this case. She is married to a wrestler as well, but doesn't appear to be a female clone of her male counterpart. Not the same really for say the Bellas. She also seems to be the voice of reason, or the only one pointing out when the Divas are in the wrong.
Now again, this isn't a knock on the ladies involved. It is a shot on how they are appearing on Total Divas. Nikki, Paige, and company are simply playing roles on the show, but I felt compelled to point out how the lines of reality and fiction are becoming blurry....at the wrong time to make it worse.

THE ORIGINAL SCREW JOB

When we hear or think of "Screw Job", those whom aren't overly perverted, think of the Montreal Screw Job. However, it wasn't the first time Vince McMahon turned the tables of a champion. The original screwing came in the mid 80's well before the internet and everyone having access to the "dirt sheets". So, for some of you this may be something new to you.

When: November 25th, 1985
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York
Target: Wendi Richter, WWF Womens Champion
Players: Vince McMahon, The Fabulous Moolah, Dick Kroll (referee)

Apparently, it was again over not signing a contract. Ironically, the same month only 22 years earlier than Montreal. The difference here, is that there is nothing stating Wendi Richter was looking to "jump ship" like Bret Hart was doing. Montreal makes sense in many ways, however the original screw job doesn't really. It would appear Vince McMahon via Gorilla Monsoon, was trying to get Wendi to sign a new deal, Which she had been rightfully asking for. Wendi was looking to be compensated, something happened. What exactly, we are not sure. Was it Vince worried she would become a "diva" (pun intended) and hold the title ransom? Was he pissed Richter didn't jump and sign the deal? Was it simply her asking to wait until after the match to read and sign it that triggered it all?

Regardless of the "why", it played out as such. Wendi Richter was scheduled to face the mysterious and masked Spider (Spider Lady). However, after whatever happened with Vince, The Fabulous Moolah dawned the costume and mask, and replaced whomever as Spider Lady for this match. Unbeknownst to Richter, who appears to be the only person "out of the loop" on this one. Although Richter says that she had a hint that something was up given the change in Spider Lady's physical appearance, but couldn't just walk away from the match. Vince found the right spot in the match to do the screw job, a small package by Spider Lady in which Wendi is supposed to (and did) kick out of. The ref of course was in on the swerve and made sure that there was a 3 count. Bell rings. And although would appear to be part of the show, Richter rips off Moolah's mask, and even appears to attempt to pin her. It is possible, that this was all part of the "training" that goes with pro wrestling. Continue as planned, if at all possible.
Again, with no internet and McMahon not using the angle to unveil "Mr. McMahon" most of us were completely unaware of the realism that was happening. For the average fan at at time, just assumed it was part of the business. People came and went for years. Even though Wendi Richter was as over as she was, she was still a professional wrestler. It wasn't until years later that the masses were made aware of this. If you hadn't read or watched a shoot interview with Wendi Richter, you finally heard the full story (at least her side). The one thing Vince did do however, was replay the spot through the years. Never explaining, simply showing it. Richter basically disappeared after that. She did carry on in the independence more a moment, even capturing other Womens Championships, but very little before retiring in 2005. Then, perhaps as an apology for the screw job, WWE inducted Wendi Richter in the 2010 WWE Hall Of Fame.

Much like the Montreal Screw Job, a lot of this does still feel like a "work". We never really know for sure. Was there a reason Richter needed to drop the title? Was there real life issues on any kind, or anything that lead to a mutual agreement? Appearing as a swerve would garner attention no matter the era. Who's to say it just didn't back fire, leaving Richter getting the shaft. Even after everyone involved giving their stories, it's confusing. Add that although it is on life support, Kayfab still exists. And the further back you go in wrestling history, the stronger it becomes. But, the Montreal Screw Job could easily have been Vince and Bret looking to help each other. Bret with legit beef going into WCW and having something to talk about, and Vince with his new direction. That is all of course, if we're not being told the truths haha As it is "dead horse" status in regards to all involved telling us.

CANUCK WRESTLERS I WASN'T AWARE WERE CANADIAN

There are the obvious, well know Canadian wrestlers, like Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Edge & Christian. But, there are and were so many more. Some of these people I didn't even know were fellow Canadians, and given their "Legend Status" I am a little bit embarrassed haha While some it wasn't my fault (no, Snitsky isn't one) given the way they were promoted character wise or which background was "shown" to the public.

John Tenta/Earthquake/Shark/Golga
This discovery came with my wanting to finally know who was under the mask, who was Golga. Which of course led to the late John Tenta better remembered as Earthquake.

Abdullah The Butcher
His legend may have been tarnished at the end of his career, but couldn't believe Abdullah was a Canuck.

Fake Razor Ramon/Rick Bognar
Hey yo, the Fake Razor gimmick may have been his peak, but was interesting to find out about another Canuck in wrestling history.

Carlito And Primo
These guys are half-Canadian through their mother, and example of thinking they were "only" Puerto Rican due to how they were presented to us. Makes sense given their father was the wrestler, but interesting to see.

Steve Corino
Again, didn't get to see much of Corino but was aware of him. His Canadian roots, I was not.

Ronnie Garvin
A legend I had no clue was Canadian. Always came across as American to me as a kid.

Dink The Clown
Not a prominent player in the game, but memorable...for some of us.

Rocky Johnson
With Tony Atlas they became the first black Tag Team Champions. But, what is more interesting for me, is that he is Canadian ergo making Dwayne aka The Rock half Canuck.

Ivan Koloff
Didn't see much of his career, but his name is almost always mentioned. And given the Russian gimmick, I assumed Russian and not Canadian.

Little Beaver and Sky Lo Lo
Had no idea the two biggest LP in wrestling history were Canadian.

Jinder Mahal
Beyond his time in 3MB, didn't care as much for him. But, Knowing now he is a Canadian, would've been nice to see him at least continue in a jobber-esque role.

Kurrgan
Another Odity member who is Canadian. But, I remember him more from his small role in RDJ's Sherlock Holmes.

Santino Marella
Although entertained by the comedy route, was always annoyed they never let Santino show his inring skills. Knowing now he is Canadian, I understand. We're athletic and funny as hell.

The Missing Link
Can only remember images of him, but as a child he looked like a legit badass. Apparently, a Canadian badass.

Lanny Poffo
Should've known a person with The Genius gimmick would be a Canuck. Only born here though, but being Macho Man's little brother makes that okay.

Stan Stasiak & Shawn "Meat" Stasiak
Only knew of his Stan's career, and didn't care much for Meat (whether in WWE or WCW). But, it is interesting to find out about their Canadian roots.

Vampiro
Honestly, haven't followed him since WCW died out. Last heard he was doing his thing on the indies last I heard. I did think he had a cool concept, that needed WWE and not WCW behind it.

Viktor (The Ascension)
Not really been much since moving to the main roster, but that is likely Vince not knowing people like tag teams. Regardless, glad to see another Canuck in WWE.

Rosa Mendes
Well, they can't all be as gifted as Trish Stratus.

Rhonda Sing/Bertha Faye
Like Medusa (aka Alundra Blayze), can't remember much about her WWF career (women's wrestling was uber back burner then), but she was memorable regardless.

Rowdy Roddy Piper
Saved the best for last. I am a bit ashamed that I wasn't aware that Hot Rod was Canadian. I knew he had wrestled through here, as Canada did have some legit territories. I just assumed he was from the USA, and showcasing his Scottish heritage. Now the argument for greatest Canadian wrestler of all time has changed.

There are some others, but they just didn't do too much (in my opinion of course), or I missed them in the search. Again, this all came from wanting to know who Golga was under the mask. Although I am a bit embarrassed by having not known these people were Canadian, I am glad I know now. Still shocked that Piper was a fellow Canadian, and like I said the discussion on who is the best Canadian wrestler of all time is different now. Bret is likely the majorities vote, but knowing about Piper's roots makes for an interesting argument.

HERO SLEEVE

I've mentioned before that I am getting a "villain" sleeve done...eventually. As for my other arm, I am still unsure if I want a whole sleeve or not. I do know, that if I did then it would have to be a hero sleeve. Heroes on my right, villains on my left.

For starters will be the part of the sleeve that is a definite going to happen, the right shoulder. There I will have various types of Batman logos/emblems, that will eventually wrap around my back forming into Batman (like I plan to take my "HA HA"s on my other shoulder and The Joker). There are actually quite a number of choices for this part. From the top of my head; Batman (1989) with the original emblem, not what marketing went with and is the more "known" of the lot. Although I will also have that. As well as from the "Batman Arkham" video game franchise. There are others that are for sure and some that I am on the fence about for various reasons but mainly from looking too much like another chosen one.
From there things are once again similar to that of the planned Villain Sleeve, and unsure of what else to get done on the rest of the arm. I could go a logo route, being easier to do with heroes than villains. If I did go a logo route, I would add Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Robin. For comic book fans, they are/were all Robins. Although, some of them are simply red versions of a version of Batman's collection, but then again, the red would add some contrast. As would a yellow Batgirl logo. Those are the easier choices. I want a "Batman Beyond" emblem as well, but unsure of where to place it. Does it belong on the arm, or on the shoulder with the other Batman logos? Comic book fans will understand, he is technically Batman but not THE Batman. Nerd dilemmas.
There would still be a lot of arm left to cover with ink. I am hoping to get my oldest daughters name on my right forearm (just not sure if forearms are big enough), like I plan to have my youngest on my left. The easy route would be to simply add Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Shazam! to the list. I give that a yes and a no. Clearly I am a Batman fan, and even though I do like the others, I just don't know if I like them enough to have tattooed on me. Superman is most likely. Memories of my Grandma, and that I wanted a Superman emblem with a 23 behind it to represent Michael Jordan haha Also, have to give props to Supes for being the first and launching the superhero world and also for being half-Canadian (Joel Schuster, people). It is another which is a matter of placement, as I am don't know if it should be a standalone Superman logo on the arm or a combined Batman/Superman as part of the shoulder or both.

This of course is just one of many routes I would consider, as with my Villain Sleeve I am am for sure planning to get when the money magically appears. I will show how I would plan out a more picture than logo route at some point. Till then, stay Nerdy!

THE UNDERTAKER MOVIE

Awhile ago, there were reports that WWE was planning to do an Undertaker movie. Not an autobiography of Mark Calaway, and not directly of the WWE Hall Of Famer (matter of when, not if) we've seen in the ring. It would be a movie simply about The Undertaker with the Hollywood touch of scripts, action sequences, special effects, etc.

Everyone has their own opinions on how they would go about this and would like to see in the film. Personally, it would be a cross between The Crow, Fight Club and a Western movie, with added sci-fi vibes to the script and presentation. I don't think I would have guns really, but a lot of hand to hand combat. With a majority of Undertakers move sets involved in the fight scenes with twists of course. Imagine an enemy laying off the edge of a building or something, Taker does the classic leg drop. Except this time there is obviously no apron, but he does the move and actually decapitates the person before vanishing into a cloud of smoke in midair. I would also consider having Kane be involved as well. Now that I think of it, he could play the roll of the main instigator, or the muscle of the main villain. Can show a flashback of Takers home being burned to the ground, his family inside. Only to have this monster return later. Not far from what they did in WWE, but with a major Hollywood upgrade.
I don't know if I would have Undertaker (Mark Calaway) play himself or have a hunt for someone who looks like him and can actually act. If it were done a few years ago, or made right now? The real Deadman for sure. As of right now he could do most of the work himself, and if need be, make him younger looking via however they do it haha

As for how I end it. Remember then ending of Conan The Conqueror? With Arnold as an aged King? That is when the Taker we see today appears sans young effects, or the real Undertaker will appear if we used another actor.

It is of course likely to "never" get made, or will be at least a few years from now. However, that doesn't mean it shouldn't. Undertaker is one of the few characters from over the years that you wouldn't necessarily need to make a "wrestling" movie. Till next time, stay Nerdy!

AUTOBIOGRAPHIES I WOULD LOVE TO READ

When I mean autobiographies, I mean both the life story and the tell-all stories.  Legitimate ones, which are always hard to really tell, unless you actually knew the person and "was there". And in the world of professional wrestling and sports entertainment, there are a few names that come to mind who I would love to read about in the manner stated. Truths, debunkings of myths and legends, unknown stuff that would've been newsworthy.
Vince McMahon
There are so many things that he could tell us. Ranging from a simple was the "glass ceiling" real, to the more corruptible like did you pay off some people to get Jimmy Snuka away with killing someone? That's just the stuff he had his hands in/on. Add all the things that he may have been privy too which also range from basic to massive.
Hulk Hogan
I always feel the good ol' Hulkster is never honest, or when he is you can never tell as he does seem to bend and alter truths. Or so it appears. So, basically have him on a lie detector and ask him every question that comes to mind from who has he screwed over, to is he really a racist. Everything and anything.
Paul Heyman
I would say put him on a lie detector too, but Paul at least makes things entertaining. Another person who would be nice to ask anything and everything. He's been around the business a long time and has had his hands in a lot of things, and his eyes and ears wide open the entire time.
Jim Ross
Another person who has been around the business for a long time and has likely seen and heard a lot of things, that he may never tell simply to protect friends, or because Vince would destroy him haha
Pat Patterson
He has been around a long time, and has been involved in controversy himself. Did he sexually harrass that guy nobody cares about? Or were he the victim of discrimination? I would like to believe he wasn't involved with what Terry Garvin was. But, it is a story worse than Benoit (if you consider possible brain damage Benoit had).

There are others I would like to see unload. Even people I haven't thought of, but would have another perspective on things that have happened in professional wrestling like The Fink. The hard part is always figuring out fact from fiction, but from the mouth type things are always better....so we have someone to pin it on when we are wrong haha

TRUE RAW V SMACKDOWN!

We are not in the early 2000's anymore. Back then, I don't know about anyone else but I like to think the majority of us 80's kids were  on our own at that time and although we may have been able to afford the internet, a computer was a different story. Nowadays, almost everyone has access to the internet. Whether it be through their phones, tablets, at home hacking the neighbors wifi, where ever. My point? Having a pre-taped Smackdown! doesn't bode as well against a live RAW.

Now, I know that the cost of a live production is pretty high, but wouldn't the possible payoff be worth it? The basic reason we enjoy a live show is the unpredictability. Mishaps, surprises, it all adds to the show. With Smackdown!, we all have had access to spoilers for years. Nowadays here in Canada, we have Smackdown! aired on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays.
If WWE is to truly have a brand split, it would almost make sense for it to be with both RAW and Smackdown! being live shows. Completely separate from each other too. Saving the "crossovers" for unicorn-esque rarity. Even if say a person is fired from RAW, they aren't always guaranteed to show up on Smackdown!, sometimes the person is legitimately future endeavored. Not all performers would be willing, but having a small bit where the fired RAW wrestler shows up at Smackdown! looking for a job, only to be denied.
Now, another part could be nobody wanting to work every Thursday night (similar to Triple H back in the day apparently). To make the brand even more appealing, perhaps add a bonus of sorts for being apart of Smackdown! They need to not repeat the mistake of making Smackdown! the "feeder" brand for RAW. Undertaker was really the only mainstay way back when, everyone else it was a matter of time before they switched once they were over with the crowds and Vince.
Personally, I would break it all down as such; Initial draft. 2 World titles, 2 Womens titles, US on one and IC on the other, 2 tag titles. Not bringing back the cruiserweight championship. Everyone is a contender for the titles. Bringing back the Cruiserweight division almost allows Vince to pigeon hole people. Then, once a year there would be a trade deadline similar to that of the NHL and other sports. Not another draft to shake things up again, but trades between brands, and sign "free agents" from those coming up from NXT and returning stars.
That is the other reason I am hoping WWE makes Smackdown! a viable alternative for RAW, NXT. If and when Vince is finished with a RAW v Smackdown! storyline, I am hoping he leaves NXT alone, and doesn't try to add them to the "war" or make them the follow-up opposition. Simply make Smackdown! great again in todays world, RAW will be possibly infused with attention as well, and then use NXT for what it is meant for, and that is a farming system. True, they are a brand. But, they're still the starting point for many performers.

As always, I don't know the ins and outs of this type of stuff. I just think that this is a way to reboost the business. Create your own competition using your own product. TNA and others aren't keeping up, and wrestling seemingly has only ever been great when there has been some form of even level competition. Crockett and WWF (WWE) were the 80's, things got stale as Crockett became Turner's WCW in early 90's, then as WCW got better as did WWE. Now I am not saying direct competition, WCW focused too much on WWE at times and well we all know the reasons and what happened.

TIMES WE GOT WHAT WE WANTED & IT BACKFIRED IN WRESTLING

Just saw a highlight of when John Cena pinned JBL to win the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 21. I remembered how that was something majority wanted, and how we couldn't wait for Cena to be drafted to RAW. That was truly the start of the John Cena we see today, as the "Thuganomics" gimmick began to be rolled back. It wasn't the first nor the last time things wouldn't turn out how we wanted them, or at least how I felt about them. Examples would be...
Goldberg V Brock Lesner
Two beasts locking horns on the grandest stage of them all. The type of match that could've even been the main event if a different time. Problem was both Goldberg and Lesner were making their last appearances for WWE (Brock of course later returned), and weren't looking to go in in style. What we were left with was a below mediocre match, and the highlight being Stone Cold Steve Austin hitting both with Stone Cold Stunners after the match concluded. That was only cool because it was as close as we'd get to Austin V Goldberg, and Lesner flipping the crowd which now feels like a "Watch what I am going to become, biotches!".
The Invasion
I'll be honest, this is only disappointing in hindsight. During that time, sure it was obvious big WCW names weren't there, but we did get guys like Booker  T and Diamond Dallas Page in a WWE ring. A dream match for me was The Rock V Booker T (sorry, DDP), and w got that. For some of that talent, it was probably best that nWo (Hogan, Hall, Nash) and others came later. Gave them an opportunity to show Vince and WWE Universe what they had.
Ultimate Warrior V Hulk Hogan
The first time, not the second. Nobody asked, nor deserved that. I am not even knocking the quality of match. Warrior didn't last long as champ, when he could have been bigger than Hogan. No offense to the memory of the Warrior, but Hogan is a bigger name. Love or hate him. I can't really remember Warriors run as champ either, his IC run yes, as the main man, no.
Zack Ryder Got A Push
You can replace Zack with a few names really, and it isn't that they got a push, or that said push was a flop and it was their fault. No, sometimes it is a simple case of fans get behind someone, WWE finally notices and orhastrates a push, and then creative expects them to turn sh!t into gold. That can happen, but shouldn't be needed. Ryder's deal with Kane and Brie Bella was a no-win situation. Ironically, if WWE kept ignoring him, he would probably be at least a Intercontinental/United States title contender if not holder.

I know most of the reasons for why these things turned out the way they did, and I understand them. It doesn't take away the disappointment though. WWE did do a pretty good job at "saving" things like The Invasion. That has to be said. For a business that plans and plans, they are pretty good at recovering on the fly.
HAPPY
 EASTER!

A WTF GOES OUT TO DC COMICS

Rebirth. Another relaunch? If Dan Dido and Jim Lee want to be like Marvel so bad, just jump ship already. In regards to comic books, it was the only valid statement in a DC v Marvel conversation. DC Comics had relaunched/renumbered just the one time, where Marvel seemed to do it quite often. Haven't seen anything that has verified this, but if the rumors are true, I am not happy about that haha

I understand some of the possible reasons I have come across. Shows like Arrow and The Flash bringing in new fans, and wanting a product that is similar to that of the television show. It happened to me with Green Lantern. I watched the movie in 2011, didn't mind it at all, then began to read the comic books. Yes, I enjoyed Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern. I am thinking it is because I was only aware of the character, because I will admit now that the comic book is better and understand why that franchise is in reboot mode. I got into the comic book version and didn't expect things to be the same as the movie. A lot of people seem to forget that the shows/movies are adaptations of the comic books. I only point this out as I am curious as to what Dan and Jim have planned if their other forms of media become flops and failures? Rumors have it that Supergirl and Legends Of Tomorrow are up in the air in regards to there being second seasons.
In all honest, DC Comics should have done one of two things. First, they shouldn't have revamped and simply renumbered. Their top titles like Detective Comics, Batman, etc were approaching issue number 1000. Issue number 1001, should have been 1. They didn't do this so, secondly, they should have had a unshakable commitment to what they were doing. Some titles throughout the New 52 era, weren't in print long enough to really get any traction and make sense of things. They did  show commitment, just in the wrong way. Convergence took over for a couple of months, which for some people meant that if you weren't interested in the storyline, then you were left with nothing to read. When did they decide to not simply do as they always have done and simply made a new temporary title that tied into other permanent titles. I usually try to be pro-DC Comics all the time, but this is a hard one. As a Batman fan (ya, ya typical of me right?) I now have to deal with Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo leaving the title, then whatever DC Comics decides to do with the goddamn Batman and his soiree of characters. The only saving grace is that Snyders' replacement is James Tynion IV, who we've been given tastes of his writing style throughout Snyder's run on Batman. And also, what happens to the good things that came from the New 52 relaunch? Again with Batman, I enjoyed some of the villains backstories being updated (Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, etc).

I am sure everything will be good. Just a matter of overlooking this almost comic book cliche of relaunches, and revamps. I enjoy movies and television shows too, I just don't expect the comic books to be the ones to change and mirror the live action. Save that for new titles that are separate from the main comic book universe. I didn't read the Smallville comic books, but thought that they were an amazing idea. I enjoyed Batman '66 for a brief period, and have been wanting a Batman (1989) series. Perhaps it is time for some change atop DC Comics. Till next time, stay Nerdy!

TRULY IS SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT

Yes, there is professional wrestling, it is what the 20x20 squared ring is used for. But, what the WWE truly is, is Sports Entertainment. As a company it has become more than just professional wrestling. Movies produced by WWE with WWE Superstars and Divas in leading roles, the WWE Network and the original programing we are starting to see on it. Look at the highest rated (or one of the highest rated) segments from the Monday Night Wars, it wasn't "professional wrestling" per say. Ya, there has always been promos and whatnot, but the "This Is Your Life" segment with The Rock and Mankind was a bit more than that. Low budget, live improve comedy. That is entertainment, not wrestling.

I think a lot of the problem, or perhaps the root of it all, is Vince McMahon's complete and outright refusal to reference WWE as professional wrestling, or any of the WWE Superstars are professional wrestlers. He is both right and wrong in going about things that way in my humble opinion.
In the right was, establishing that his brand was different than others. WCW was dying out before the Monday Night Wars too really (in comparison to the 80's at least). And what did Turner and Bischoff do? Make WCW more like WWE in regards to promotion and production. They became more Sports Entertainment than wrestling, did very well, and if not for poor creative as well as the AOL Time Warner deal may have survived. The original ECW, originally TNA, and ROH are/were professional wrestling organizations. ECW is now part of WWE, and TNA made the mistake of trying to compete directly with WWE in a failing manner that began the slow demise. No not done yet, but when mjority of your top stars who practically made TNA what it is have left and are either signed with WWE or a possibilty of doing so (if not other professional wrestling companies).
Vince was wrong in many ways as well. Not all of his WWE Superstars are anything more than professional wrestlers. And a lot of them will tell you so as well. An example would be Daniel Bryan. He was/is a professional wrestler, and got over with the crowd for not being the typical WWE guy (was he really an underdog?) in a massive way. Sure he could maybe do bit parts, but I cannot see someone like Daniel Bryan becoming an actor like The Rock, John Cena, or some others. Not a dis in any way, I would almost assume DB would say himself that his way of entertaining people was in a squared circle. Perhaps if Vince and WWE allowed more people to simply be wrestlers, the entertainers would stand out even more. Perhaps, perhaps not.

So again, what the WWE has become is truly Sports Entertainment Company that produces a professional wrestling show, among other things. Ring Of Honor? TNA? GFW? Those are purely professional wrestling companies, who should focus on that instead of competing with WWE (looking at you, Dixie).

IT BEGINS WITH JACQUELINE

Rightfully so. Jacqueline did everything that the WWE product required of her at the times. The Attitude Era saw her show the confidence it takes to strut around in a bikini (even exposing her breasts on occasion), but again, that was what the WWE product needed from her at that time. Then they needed her to wrestle, and she did that flawlessly. Working with all types too, from those who couldn't really wrestle (Sable, although has some MMA ability) to even the men. Even winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Trish Status and Lita were obvious choices to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. Their names were as known as any of the guys (including Rock and Stone Cold), and to be honest, if you put Sunny in there...well. With Jacqueline being inducted this year, it makes me think that combined with the recent "Divas Movement", this is a sign of things to come. There were plenty of Divas from yesteryear that deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame, and not actually talking about Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson, although there "star power" earned through wrestling makes them deserving. What about the females who were like Jacqueline and could actually wrestle.
Ivory. Another Diva who could do it all, regardless of the products direction. Her "anti-Diva" type reactions during bikini contests and whatnot added to the segment so it was more than just a meat show. She had quality inring ability, and could work a mic (being known as a chatter box helped that I am sure). Her character in RTC (Right To Censor) was just as entertaining as Steven Richards.
Victoria/Tara. She started off as one of The Godfather's hoes, and has become one of the best ever. Her matches with Trish Status were amazing, most notably their hardcore match. She seemed to get better with age, both ability and looks wise.
Jazz. Her run wasn't really that long, but she was a good wrestler and likely was held back for not "looking the part", not that she isn't attractive, but as we know there was a certain look for years...basically model like.
Molly Holly. A rare Diva who didn't have to reveal any flesh (beyond some cleavage). She sure could go with anyone in the ring. And she even "out her hair on the line" just so the WWE Womens Championship and women would be represented at Wrestlemania beyond the Playboy Evening Gown Match. Ya.
Luna Vachon. Multi generation...you know what, google the late Diva's work. That was a women's wrestler for sure.
Gail Kim and Mickie James. Might be too early yet, but they are both deserving. Like others on the list, willing and able to give what the product requires of them. Both would make perfect fits in todays Divas division.

Again, I am not against women like Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson going into the WWE Hall Of Fame, I would just prefer to see the women who could wrestle just as good as the men go in first.

HEEL TURN COMING?

Probably beating the proverbial dead horse again, but John Cena. Heel turn. The reason I am thinking about it again, is that his next World Championship will be his 16th. The is Nature Boy Ric Flair's thing. Even if Naitch came out and publicly endorsed everything with the utmost sincerity, we could see Daniel Bryan level of fan reaction. The women and children can cheer all they want, they will be drowned out by booing half of crowds everywhere.

John has said that technically he is already a heel since there are the jeers among the cheers. And has also said that if he went heel via a throwback of sorts, those who booed would begin to cheer. Both are very likely true in a sense. His heel ways would "lose kids" and men would cheer when they should boo. However, it dawned on me that he could go heel and possibly be the one capable of putting Roman Reigns over like they are trying.
Whether it be at Wrestlemania 32, or maybe even the RAW that follows, but Cena somehow screws Reigns out of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H. It is then revealed that he has joined The Authority. To put the heel turn through the roof, Cena's 16th World Title would simply be handed to him. This works if there is a brand split and the title is divided again, remember when Bischoff rewarded Triple H (ironically) the World Heavyweight Title after Brock Lesner took the WWE Championship to Smackdown!? Trips got massive heat for both being handed the title, and for those who think everything is simply because of who he married (morons, tbh. position now? likely ya. inring? rewatch history). With Cena, that heat could be amplified for being the current face of WWE.
Fans did boo Hogan during his nWo turn, and we was able to "return to the kids" after. This could also help get someone like Roman Reigns over once fans simply want anyone to take the title from Cena. Since they seem against having Reigns make the turn a la The Rock.
To make things possibly uber hot, start things at or RAW after Wrerstlemania 32, then possibly have Lesner end title reign #16 at Summerslam or Survivor Series, and with help of The Authority win it back for #17 next night on RAW. Forget tying Ric Flair, imagine the reaction to #17. Then at Wrestlemania 33, Reigns ends the reign.

Now, that is all banking on the fans simply hating Cena to the point that they will take Reigns no matter how Vince prefers to push him. Might be easy to think of Bray Wyatt as a heel who could get Reigns over, but fans love him too much for that to work yet. Bray's best bet to really go heel is be the guy who screws over and feuds with the people that the fans love.

APP OBSESSION OF THE MOMENT

Not usually an "app person", I barely even want a cell at times haha But, I do have moments where I join the herd and play around with one. MSQRD is the app that has my attention at the moment, and drew me in with the Batman V Superman filters. Like I was going to pass up being Batman haha I have enjoyed it thus far, and am thinking perhaps I will replace text messages with videos of myself as Batfleck's Batman. Seriously, I am haha

There is also the Superman filter, which for any X-Men fans could also be used to replicate yourself as Cyclops sans visor or shades. There are others, but nothing comic book related from what I can tell. Which is what my brain is craving now, and can envision filters where we are transformed into comic book characters like Deadpool, The Joker (any, and all live action versions), Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, you can see where I am going with this I am sure. Well, if you are a comic book fan
that is.

If I were more Geek than Nerd, I would try and make my own app that is the same, but I would also add voice changing features. I think that would be pretty cool. For those who aren't able to imitate. Batman, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), even other genres with legendary voices like from Star Wars with Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Yoda,......Jar Jar hahaha

It will be interesting to see where else they go with this, if anywhere. Would seem possibly a good idea to try and base more things on movies and shows as they are released. Deadpool, Batman V Superman, Captain America: Civil War, Suicide Squad, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, etc this year alone. Nerd culture is booming right now, and with even just the movies it makes sense. The Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice filters have been enjoyable as I have said. If they charge us for them, hopefully not too much haha

PLANS FOR MY VILLAIN SLEEVE

I have at least decided that my left arm will be my "villain" arm. Will mostly be my number one villain, The Joker. But, a villain sleeve regardless. If I am to go beyond getting a variety of Batman logos on my right shoulder (wrapping around the back becoming Batman, and the "HA"s on my left becoming The Joker) at some point, then obviously it will become my hero arm haha But, let us focus on the villain side of things. I already have a bunch of "HA"s on my left shoulder. Similar to the ones Jared Leto's Joker has coming down his shoulder/chest area. That was a simply "see if I can do this" as well as a "while I have the money" situation. And after comparing my experience with my significant others, I am going to get more. Different areas are different levels of pain, I know. She got hers done within 30 minutes, really well done, simple yet beautiful piece on her back shoulder. She also had it done by who I was recommended to go see. Me? For the tattoo that you see in the picture? That was a total of 7-8 hours haha New artist (found out after he started), and apparently my skin doesn't absorb the ink. Regardless, that time was a lot more for a far more basic tattoo, as well as the major scabbing. Again, just in comparison. Next time however, I will be going to the same place she went of course.

So, where to go from here.I am thinking about getting my daughters names on my forearms whether have sleeve(s) or not. Even if my lady and I break-up, any other woman who has a problem with those tatts (other than the quality of them haha) isn't needed or welcome in my life. Simple. Thanks to "Suicide Squad" (coming out this August), I have at least been able to find a few to be a part of the sleeve. The only down side to them, is that a lot, and I mean a lot of people have gotten them. The only saving grace for me is that mine will be a part of a sleeve with a theme. Those tatts will be The Joker tatts (pictured), the blacked Harley Quinn skull (pictured) for my youngest daughter, Harleigh Quinn, and then I am going to design myself or have an artist design a similar style skull but with Poison Ivy as my oldest daughter has picked her as her favorite female Bat-villain (other than Harley Quinn, but given the situation). Those are the easy choices really, other than possibly wanting the one Joker skull tatty on my neck. I am hoping to go full sleeve so there is a ways to go despite how skinny my arms are. Ya, that's the other fun part of this. I am skinny as 4uck right now. At some point I became an ectomorph, and not sure if muscle would really make enough room or canvas haha

Moving on, I am still unsure of what else to get. I am a "DC Guy", but spent half of childhood reading and loving Marvel. Meaning that there are some villains/anti-heroes from the Marvel Universe that I will always love. Sabretooth, Venom (although not sure if they still classify him as a baddie), Carnage, Thanos, Deadpool, etc. Venom's logo would look sick I think, either on a forearm or as a back piece.
I'm more DC than Marvel, they are who "brought me to the dance" so I will be going with a DC Comics Villain Sleeve. Along with the "skulls" mentioned, I was also thinking about adding some "???"s to represent The Riddler. If I had the space, I would have them surround a short riddle, but again I am too skinny at this point in time haha Another idea I am thinking about is Harley Quinn's trademark diamond (pictured), as well as regular diamonds and hearts around my daughter Harleigh Quinn's name. Which I think would tie them in together nicely, rest of the sleeve? Not too sure haha The other problem would be explaining to people that I didn't spell it wrong, we simply went with the femme version of the name Harley. She is blonde haired, blue eyed, smart as hell (like it is weird haha), and a combination of sweet, moody, bossy, & crazy. Oh, and freakishly strong. She is Harley Quinn no matter how her name is spelled haha

Now, this is just one route, or parts of a route I may or may not take. Just trying to get the though process rolling by typing it out. Dis sh!t is 4 Life so I like to think on it for a bit. Ya, money is key but what to spend it on when I do have it is what is really important. Like I said, the one Joker skull tatts I am thinking about getting on my neck, just not sure, and if not it would be a part of the sleeve. I have only gotten one tattoo, on one of if not the least painful areas, so the neck is only a thought really. Just think it would look good. If were to take a more "picture" than "logo" route, I would consider having "HA"s like my shoulder but smaller, as the "filler" between the main pieces of the sleeve.
I'll do another entry at some point about my possible hero sleeve. Right from the get go, a "logo" based sleeve is a hell of a lot more easier to plan out even just inside the Batcave with Nightwing, Robin, Red Robin, Red Hood haha Till then...Stay Nerdy!
