Still am, but have been ill for a few as of late, hence why there hasn't been a post in a bit. Although I did make my first web page, not too bad of a job I would think for my first attempt, especially since I have nooooo idea what I am doing, maybe one day I will post it and push it like I do with this blog aha
So, one good thing about being sick is the time available to read what comic books you have. I've spent my recent days reading Detective Comics #2, which wasn't bad at all, introduced The Dollmaker (with some friends or family it would appear), but after the final moments and the final frame of issue #1, I was dying to know what was happening with The Joker, other than he's on the run "faceless" and his "face" that was left at Arkham was freaking people out big time, there is no glimpse at where they are taking Mr. J. But, I can wait, I can wait....it had better be grrrreat though ahaha
I also picked up my copies of Red Lanterns #1 and #2, which although I hate waiting, worked out as every #1 pretty much left you hanging for #2. I am glad that I not only recommended this title, I am glad I read it, and now will continue to read the Red Lanterns. I admit, the opening moments of Red Lanterns #1, with the cat (Dex-Starr) all decked out in a Red Lanterns outfit, I was thinking "Really? A cat? Ooooo-kay", but quickly got over it once Dex scalped a guy, and then Atrocitus made his appearance to save his feline friend. Pick up an issue and read, but you will learn this, Don't *Censored* With Atrocitus' cat ahahaha As I have mentioned before, I am re-entering the comic book reading world, so I am not sure of how the Red Lanterns were presented before, I just assumed they were villains fueled by rage. Reading the entry on Wikipedia, I assumed right, with Atrocitus being responsible for Abin Sur's death apparently. Well, this go round, Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns are being presented more as an anti-hero type, picture an alien Batman who kills, or what Stone Cold Steve Austin was, or simply Badasses. With a back story for Atrocitus reaveals how the rogue Guardian Kronos, had the Manhunters wipe out Atrocitus' people, wife and daughter. Which is typical I guess for this type of hero, but who cares in this case as the vengeance that is dealt is epically nice to the eye. With the Red Lanterns Corp now instruments of vengeance, they have more "options" in the universe to unleash their rage, and with Atrocitus being the only "intelligent" member, hence being the leader, he is going to make one of the members almost his equal, well aware of the risk, which is that the chosen Lantern could turn on the leader and/or do something against the new direction of the collective group. I have the idea that it is going to be the female in the group (who reminds me of Harley Quinn), Bleez. I say this, as she was really the only one talking...well sounds and words aha
This has me in anticipation for issue #3, as I am curious as to who will be chosen? Will the member turn? If they turn, will they perhaps make a new Lantern Corp as Sinestro had done back in the day with fear creating the Yellow Lanterns? Will we see all the members of the Red Lanterns Corp, both current and future, be given the brains to function on the same level as Atrocitus? I am really hoping for this, as I read that the crimson colored Lanterns can only produce constructs if they have the mental capacity to do so. I also hope they keep the fact that they recharge their rings on blood.
Another thing I am hoping to see in the Red Lanterns, is a human member. I've come across pictures of Hal Jordan as a member, and loved it. Personally, I usually don't care for aliens, one of the reasons I am heavy on Batman, but so far I am really enjoying this title, and I think a character from earth could garner a few more readers as they could possibly relate. However, I think this would maybe take away from Atrocitus as the lead character, so I would of course have the human become an enemy somehow, perhaps join the Yellow Lanterns, because Atrocitus is too good to play second fiddle, my opinion any way.
Here is the oath of the Red Lantern Corps, I really like this one, but I pretty much like all the oaths of the Lanterns (wonder if Orange will ever get one)
Of course, I got all my comic books from Worlds Collide, and again the service was great. Nerdy getting a lolli, suggesting that I look over her issue of Catwoman (a back issue) before letting her read it, wasn't too bad, sadly she sees worse in the real world and TV, and again I prefer to teach her in place of shelter. but once again appreciated the clerk taking 2 seconds to point it out. And to top it off, got to grab a free comic from the "free comic" bin. Which I liked of course, being a fan of free shizz, I grabbed one for the Nerd, but regret not getting Return To Wonderland, as My Sweets later mentioned that she might read a comic book if it was similar to the one she was looking at one day, which of course, was Return To Wonderland ahaha

Much love for Red Lantern. First comic book I ever read and I am hooked. I am with you, I was thinking a dressed up kitty was something from a Paris Hilton biography until that pussy cat scalped someone. Number three can't come soon enough.
