While I wait for my newly purchased Batman: Arkham City Batarang Controller for my PS3 to charge, figured I would blog about a few things like Batman: Arkham City and the comic books that I have bought and read this week.

I brought in my 30th year on this planet waiting in line at midnight for my copy of Batman: Arkham City for my PS3. It was a first for me, as I never really pre-order games, and prefer to wait till the next day to grab one. It wasn't "amazing" my any means, the line up was only an hour long, and only one person had dressed up from the "customers" as the employees dressed as The Joker, The Riddler and The Penguin. The lone cosplayer was dressed as The Joker, and there were people in the line all making fun asking who does that? I didn't, all I was thinking was A) If my Nerdy was with me, high chance we would have dressed up and B) I wish there were more people like that in my area as it simply makes things fun. Anyhow, the game as expected is amazing, story seems longer, the move sets have expanded, and it is loaded with villains and character appearances. To name a few, of course The Joker n Harley Quinn, Hugo Strange, Mr. Freeze, Deadshot, even Solomon Grundy is in there. We see an appearance by Robin (not sure which one he is Dick, Tim or Damian) and some other do-goods or ones that are in-between hero and villain. I have only played (and completed storywise) easy mode, I am not a hardcore gamer, semi-Facebook gamer but I don't think that is the same thing ahaha And I must say that even in easy it is somewhat challenging, for me at least as I am not a pro with the remote batarang, but I am now starting normal mode as to unlock things and get trophies. Speaking of bat gadgets, we get what we got in Batman: Arkham Asylum like the batarangs, grapple gun, etc, we now also get things like smoke pellets, even weapons courtesy of certain villains. Like I said the story seems longer, and the map is huge, loaded with buildings and structures (anyone who could memorize this one is a pro, P-R-O). There are also quite a few side missions, such as working with villains, and saving political prisoners (one of which was Bruce Wayne, who makes an appearance in the game) from the "real" criminals. The Riddler's things are abundant throughout Arkham City, both for Batman and Catwoman.
As for playing as Catwoman? To be honest, I almost prefer it. She looks and moves amazingly, while using her whip to swing and grapple around Arkham City to eloquently kicking bad guy booty. My personal favorite, which is a new move for Batman only he baseball slides, Catwoman sliding in a way I can't think of how to describe other than sliding on her back with her legs bent back or if you have seen the movie Wanted then remember the scene where Angelina Jolie is on the train with the main character and she drops to her knees then to her back while the train goes under a bridge? If so, then that but while sliding ahaha. So, far my only problem has been that my Sinestro Corps skin will not work, with it saying my code is either invalid or incorrect. Hopefully I can get it, as it is the only reason I got the combo pack for the Green Lantern movie.

Like I said when I opened this one, I also bought the Batarang controller, which looks great, I love having an on/off switch also, not really sure what I think of the usb reciever thingamabob that I have to use, but whatever, it is Batman ergo it is good ahaha Hopefully, the buttons in slightly different spots won't throw me off too much also aha

Comic Book wise this week, Nerdy got her Catwoman #2 and a Tiny Titans comic book. I got my copy of Batman #2, but also decided to pick up Justice League #1 and #2 (#1 was a fourth printing by the way, way to go DC) and I really like it. Of course Jim Lee penciling is almost a guaranteed win, for my tastes that is, but I am enjoying the introduction of each member as they are all meeting for pretty much the first time. So far, there is Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), The Flash, and Superman all surprised that Batman has no super powers aha We also see Cyborg being coming to be turned into well Cyborg after an accident at his fathers lab. Wonder Woman seems to be next to be shown in issue #3, but Darkseid is definitely on the horizon as the villain. I like it so much I am going to add it to my folder at Worlds Collide, making my total title number at 7, with Batman, Detective Comics, Batman & Robin, Batman: The Dark Knight, Red Lanterns, Green Lantern and Justice League. Nerdy, my daughter, is at three titles with Batgirl, Batwoman and Catowman. Add to that, we are now looking for the rest of My Sweets (girlfriend) series that I got her into with Grimm Fairy Tales: Return To Wonderland. I am also going to see about other titles from Grimm Fairy Tales to see if I can get her completely hooked aha So a grand total of 10 monthly titles, which started out as only 3. It is going to get pricey if they come out with any new titles that catch my eye, if there are any more Batman titles (with Batman/Bruce Wayne in them) or if Yellow Lanterns get their own title if Sinestro ever goes back that is. And if there are any crossovers, it will be slightly insane, if history shows anything, major ones will keep the insanity all year long minimum ahaha
